The Ernie Edwards Trio kicks off The Saturday Jazz Buffet at Pianos Bar and Grill in Bloomfield, NJ (www.pianosbarandgrill.com), Saturday, January 15 2011 at 3:00PM. In addition to the trio, with Jacob Webb on bass and Nathan Webb on drums, vibraphonist Randy Sutin will be the special guest performer. Born in Great Falls, Montana, Randy spent his early years growing up in a small town in upstate New York, about 40 miles from Montreal, Quebec.
Randy has performed with several jazz notables including Cecil Payne, Big Nick Nicholas, Charles Davis, Benny Powell, Tom Harrell, Bill Hardman and Junior Cook and the late Bill Hollis, a New Jersey and Philadelphia area pianist/composer.
Randy appears on recordings with internationally known bassist, Tyrone Brown and the late Eddie Green. Randy has recently collaborated with his wife, Marianne in another project which attempts to create a whole new genre of music that they refer to as “Balanced American Music”. The result is a CD entitled "Meditations for Percussion and Flute" (www.randysutin.com).
This will be one great performance that you will not want to miss! At Pianos Bar and Grill, you will see and hear four (4) exceptionally talented musicians performing together in an intimate setting.
