Are you looking to cover a song/composition that you didn't write and include it on your release (CD, download, ringtone)?
I recently started working at RightsFlow
, a licensing and royalty service provider serving artists, labels and distributors and helping songwriters get paid.
We have now launched Limelight
, a website that provides
artists, labels, church choirs and college bands with a simple, easy method to licensing cover songs and third-party compositions for $15 or less. The portal allows users to obtain licenses for physical releases, digital downloads, and ringtones, reducing the complexity of licensing with publishers directly. Limelight
offers several key features,
including copyright compliance, licenses that don’t expire, minimal fees, and coverage of the broader publishing market not represented by mechanical rights societies.
Under U.S. Copyright Law, mechanical licenses are required for music to be distributed through retailers and online music services. The current U.S. statutory mechanical rate for permanent downloads is 9.1¢ for songs five minutes or less and 1.75¢ per minute for songs over five minutes.
I would love to know what you think about the service.http://limelight.rightsflow.com
Thanks! Keep making music everyone!
