"My love for education has inspired me to share my knowlege with others. Nothing is more rewarding than to learn something you did not know before, and then to give it greater value, by offering it as a light to others. I want to thank Jaijai Jackson and The Jazz Network Worldwide, for providing this opportunity for me to share what has been given to me."

Peace,

Hi everyone! Jasmine, I see we're both high from the jam session earlier. If anyone else is in Atlanta, meet me, and hopefully Jasmine Banks (smile and wink), at Sambuca at 8pm and then we'll travel on over to Bernard Linnette's jam session on Peters Street. Should be able to find out the scoop on his profile page here on the network, but if not, email me and I'll help you out. Would love to see off of us out.

I gig from 7-11pm at Sambuca - 3102 Piedmont Road, ATL 30303. (404) 237-5299. Jasmine is going to sit in, so if anyone else plans to come, email me and we'll work it out ahead of time.

Musical love,

Maria

I am afraid my gigs are all London side - if I get over there again (I was invited over to San Diego and appeared at Jim Croce's bar with great blues musicians and a couple of years ago TV in Florida) then I will certainly let you all know! Great to be in touch with you all - warmest regards and respect Coralie

The Jazz Network is exactly what the title suggests, a place where you get to mix and mingle with those who have not only an appreciation for Jazz but a forum to hear new up and coming artists as well. I've hooked up with so many of my old friends that I've lost contact with over the years here and it's been a great place to meet folk, appreciate good music and Musicianship. What an incredible idea!!

Rudresh Mahanthappa On Piano Jazz

Mahanthappa brings an explosive blend of jazz and South Indian classical music to the studio.

Grady Tate On Piano Jazz

Grady Tate began his jazz career as a much-celebrated drummer, backing such icons as Wes Montgomery, Ella Fitzgerald, and Quincy Jones. Tate has since traded in his skins for a microphone at center stage, where he delivers smooth and soulful baritone vocals. With pianist John di Martino, Tate sings "Everybody Loves My Baby" and "Where Do You Start."

Woody Herman At 100: 'A Blues Player From His Heart'

He was a soulful reedman, an amazing talent scout for decades and a bandleader of one of the country's most popular acts. Born in 1913, Herman led "Thundering Herds" that were both big draws and well-respected by the likes of Igor Stravinsky. Here are five recordings which still sound fresh today.

Edmar Castañeda And Friends On JazzSet

Hear passionate improvisation across borders on Colombian harp, Argentinian bandoneón, Venezuelan cuatro and vibes from the U.S. In a set with Castañeda, his trio and special guests perform at the Americas Society in New York.

Miguel Zenón Quartet: Live At The Village Vanguard

Ever since he started becoming one of the best alto saxophone players in the world, Zenón has drawn from his upbringing in Puerto Rico. But, like many Puerto Ricans, Zenón lives in New York — where his quartet of 10 years has finally been invited to play the Vanguard. It presents new music in concert.
