Hey Friends,

I need your help. I've been nominated for "2009 Best Male Artist" by It's a Readers Poll, so I need your vote. Please go to the site ( and click on "VOTE HERE" which is at the end of the paragraph. (Jan. 5th) Scroll down to the "BEST MALE ARTIST" section and choose ME (Earl R. Johnson, Jr.) then click "VOTE." That's it!! Simple, right? I really appreciate everyone's support with this. I'll let you all know if (I mean WHEN) I win!! (-;
For those of you who haven't seen me perform, you can view my Promo Video on my page.

Again, Thank You and Much Musical Love!!

Club Owners and Entertainment Directors,

I am currently promoting Mr. Deon Yates, Jazz saxophonist that has put together a beautiful tribute to Mr. Grover Washington, Jr. We are looking for clubs/venues to bring this extraordinary show to. If you or someone you know may be interested, we are willing and able to travel. As Jazz lovers, we all know the beauty of Grover Washington's music so this will be an incredible treat to your patrons. I would love to hear from you!

It is true that some cities don't have jazz venues. Here in Miami is very hard for me to find jazz venues where to showcase my talents and my band, so what I do I turned my huge backyard into a Jazz Shag once a month with all the treamings! Here I have some of my fellow musicians that also play jazz music came down and donate their time and talents for the sake of Jazz.Our friends and families come down and we have a heck of a time! of course there is no profit on this; but at least, I get it out of my system! and It is creating some buzz!!!!

Join me October 12, 2008 - 8:00pm for an encore performance of Vardan Ovsepian, piano; with Joshua Davis, bass; Gavin Salmon, drums at Hollywood Studio Bar and Grill 6122 Sunset Blvd, Hollywood, CA $10 Cover+ 2 drink /dinner minimum
Vardan Ovsepian is an Armenia-born pianist/composer and a Fresh Sound - New Talent recording artist. Born in 1975, Vardan started playing piano at the age of five. After completing his basic piano training, he went on to study at the Melikyan Music College, majoring in Music Theory, and in 1992, entered the Yerevan State Conservatory majoring in Classical Composition. In 1994, he was accepted to the Estonian Music Academy to study Contemporary Composition.

In 1995, following his strong interest and passion for jazz and improvised music Vardan moved to Finland, to attend the Helsinki Jazz Conservatory. There, he met and studied with Frank Carlberg, the First Prize winner of the Hennessey Jazz Search, who opened a new world of jazz for him and brought him one step closer to achieving his dream of coming to the United States. A couple of years later, this dream was fulfilled – Vardan was awarded a scholarship to study piano performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Since graduating from Berklee in May 2000, Vardan has been teaching at The Musical Suite in Newburyport, MA, and performing solo as well as in groups with artist such as George Garzone, Mick Goodrick, Tim Miller, and others. Over the past few years, Vardan has taught master classes and performed at Maine Jazz Camp, Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival (Alaska) and Towson University (Maryland).

Vardan has released three CDs with Barcelona–based label Fresh Sound – New Talent. In September 2001, the label launched the artist with a solo piano CD Abandoned Wheel. One year later, Vardan recorded his second CD, Sketch Book, with a quartet and special guest Mick Goodrick. Artists featured on the second CD include Monica Yngvesson (voice), Joshua Davis (bass) and Take Toriyama (drums). And, in September 2004, Fresh Sound released Vardan's newest creation Akunc featuring his quartet and cellist Agnieszka Dziubak.

Vardan Ovsepian Chamber Ensemble (VOCE) is a newly formed group comprised of violins, cello, flute, celtic harp, duduk, double bass, percussion and piano, in varying combinations. The aim of the group is to interweave the instinctiveness of jazz improvisation with the traditions of European art music.

Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.

I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.

My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."

Let's be audacious, my friends!
