I will be performing at the Gronau Jazz Festival in Gronau, Germany - April 29th and at The Hartford Jazz Festival, Hartford-Connecticut on May 20th.

Charito we are all very excited that you'll be performing in Atlanta in May. I have your CD playing right now, "Nica's Dream" the title is a long time favorite of mine and you rendition is thrilling. TJN is so fortunately to have such gifted musicians and singers from around the world. Attending the Altanta Jazz festival this year will be an even bigger treat, can't wait to say hello.

For those of you out there who have not heard Maria Howell, go to her page and 'get a listen' she will blow you away! I urge festival promoters, club owners, entertainment directors to book this very talented woman, you'll be glad you did. She will most definitely be on my concerts presenting the talent from the JAZZ NETWORK!

Just returned from International Jazz Festival of Port-au-Prince. That's right, Haiti has a jazz festival, and was the 2nd edition. Maybe no "big names" were there, but it was really a festival of the people, with nine collaborating embassies sponsoring a group from their countries. Naturally, you had local and diaspora Haitian musicians playing also. The eight day event included nightly concerts in a outdoor courtyard seating 1,000 and three open-air gigs in larger/park venues.
Additionally there were after concert jam sessions so visiting musicians could mix it up in a jazz club restaurant atmosphere. Visiting musicians also conducted music workshops to teenage/young adult music students at three music schools. Concerts were also broadcast live on TV.
As one young man told me when I asked if he liked jazz, "Compas is #1, the music of my country. Jazz is #2."

I will perform for the first time with Bernard Linnette's group at the 31st Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival, May 24 26, 2008 in Woodruff Park in Atlanta, Georgia.
The move to Woodruff Park is a great happening as it affords the opportunity to celebrate Atlanta and all of its rich culture. This years festival will feature Atlanta based jazz artists during the 31 days in May and will culminate with family fun and music in Woodruff Park. As some of you might know Norway is a country of Jazz festivals. I will especially promote Moldejazz and Kongsberg Jazz Festival.

Hi, I am setting my calendar for the next 12 months. As we know, festival bookings are handled well in advance. I´d like to know about festivals in the U.S., Europe and Australia. Can anyone put me on to the contact persons for any of the festivals?

Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.
I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.
My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."
