Hi Everybody,

Glad to be a part of the group...I have some free videos to share. They cover what most guitarists never learn. We learn what to apply to the fretboard, but usually don't learn the system of guitar... guitarists of all levels and styles can benefit from this knowledge...    http://www.youtube.com/thesystemofguitar

From the start playing guitar has been a tireless and endless pursuit of passion from deep within my soul! I love Lee Ritenour and George Benson's ability to shift from simple to abstract in a heartbeat! Sometimes what seems to be abstract is simple and vice versa! I believe it is a combination of discipline, control and technique...and of course some theory and ability...but the passion never ceases!  I take what I can from these great players and deliver a whole lot of Mike Johnson!

When I listen to Bill Frisell, Jim hall, John Scofield etc etc I have two different reactions 1 what is there left to do it all seems to be done 2 thats the very reason I keep trying to do it, to learn to become me and get better all the time. I believe that each note played should be like a flower which is opening, like looking at the one I love my wife. Maybe it takes six lives to play Jazz guitar, maybe it will take six lives to love my wife enough! so back to work      just keep doing it for the right reasons.
