Worldly friends, I have been receiving nice royalties from Europe over the past couple of years and I would like some advice. My husband and I are going to France (mostly southern) and Italy this fall (including Sicily) for a vacation. I would like to make the trip partially about business by connecting with promoters in those areas to set up some possible concerts in the future (or even during our trip, if it works out that way). Any have any leads?

contact 917 388 7755 or email percussionistwilliamruiz@gmail.com          William Ruiz's main instrument is the tongue drum and the Mayahuacan of Native American/ Taino Indian origin. Logdrums are played all over the world by indigenous peoples of Native American, African, and Asian cultures.

His CD recordings Cipriani, In New York, & Taino (all registered works in the Library of Congress) demonstrate group, solo, and ensemble music situations combining Improvisation, Jazz, & World Music forming undestracting, tranquil, medicinal relaxing music. His music has been described as serene, minimalist, rhythmic, meditational, & trance-like. By combining various percussion instruments with the 12 tongue logdrum hr creates a unique style of music that has been enjoyed on tours all over the United States, Europe, Puerto Rico, the virgin Islands, South East Asia, and the Middle East.

William has performed , recorded, and worked on stage with/ for world renowned musicians such as Reggie Workman, William Cepeda, Victor Bailey, J.T.Lewis, Yossi Fine, Jay Rodriguez, Abdou Mboup, Sam Newsome, Joe Exley, Jojo Kuo, Josh Roseman, Groove Collective, Osunlade, Uli Geissandorfer to name a few.

He has headlined events at Madison Square Garden was featured on the MSG Channel TV Series NYC Soundtracks, performed at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center Outdoors, the United Nations, CNN, has been interviewed/ performed live on Hot 97, WBAI 99.5 - NYC radio. Ruiz has performed for Kofi Annan, Mayor Bloomberg & Tavis Smiley as well as for the International Health Coalition.

Jazz pianist and international jazz artist available:

I am looking for booking, networking, and exposure opportunities for both myself and my band. Please take the time to check me out.

I am jazz pianist and perform as a sideman, accompanist, solo pianist, and as the leader of my own trio. My band and I have experience performing in Europe and all over the Southeast. I am an experienced, humble, hard-working musician and I love the opportunity to present my music and play with other musicians. I'm trying to get more involved in the jazz community and would like to get my band involved in some jazz festivals this year as well as do some more touring and get more bookings at jazz clubs. My whole band has valid U.S. passports.

Check out my website to learn more about me, listen to music, watch videos, and read recommendations others have written about me and my band.

Please feel free to reach out to me on facebook or twitter as well.

The Jazz Network is exactly what the title suggests, a place where you get to mix and mingle with those who have not only an appreciation for Jazz but a forum to hear new up and coming artists as well. I've hooked up with so many of my old friends that I've lost contact with over the years here and it's been a great place to meet folk, appreciate good music and Musicianship. What an incredible idea!!

Pat Metheny And John Zorn: A Vivid Sound World

The two artists are known opposites in the world of instrumental music. On Metheny's latest, the jazz guitarist wrings an unexpectedly visual listening experience from Zorn's knotty compositions.

Sarah Vaughan: A New Box Set Revels In Glorious Imperfections

Divine: The Jazz Albums, 1954-1958 packs four CDs with Vaughan's music, recorded live or in the studio with bands big and small. Two live albums from Chicago nightclubs are standouts, partly when a performance threatens to slide off the rails.

Rudresh Mahanthappa On Piano Jazz

Mahanthappa brings an explosive blend of jazz and South Indian classical music to the studio.

Grady Tate On Piano Jazz

Grady Tate began his jazz career as a much-celebrated drummer, backing such icons as Wes Montgomery, Ella Fitzgerald, and Quincy Jones. Tate has since traded in his skins for a microphone at center stage, where he delivers smooth and soulful baritone vocals. With pianist John di Martino, Tate sings "Everybody Loves My Baby" and "Where Do You Start."

Woody Herman At 100: 'A Blues Player From His Heart'

He was a soulful reedman, an amazing talent scout for decades and a bandleader of one of the country's most popular acts. Born in 1913, Herman led "Thundering Herds" that were both big draws and well-respected by the likes of Igor Stravinsky. Here are five recordings which still sound fresh today.
