I see so many requests for agents. Are there comments regarding agents' responses to the requests? Any successes? How about an 'agents seeking---' area?

Dear all,

You are most welcome to visit my swing ensemble on www.jerrysenfluk.co.uk where you can also hear short samples of our music.

We are a truly international band, having pursued globalisation even before the word was invented. As such, we'd happily perform just anywhere, be it Patagonia, Kazakhstan, Rarotonga, Bobo Dioulasso or Potters Bar. Just anywhere, as long as the arithmetics are right.

Would love to hear good news (well, who would not?).

Best wishes

FREEPORT is seeking representation. If interested send resume and contact info to FreeportJazz@netzero.com. Our info can be found at www.FreeportJazz.com.

Overview:

Chances are you have heard of FREEPORT as they perform record and share stages at top festivals and venues with sophomoric artists, Grammy Award winners and legends like Bob James, Nils, Joyce Cooling, Paul Brown, James Cotton, Bob Baldwin, Eric Mintel, Matt Marshak, Dee Lucas, Marcus Johnson, Tower Of Power, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Special EFX, and Grover Washington Jr. and the list goes on.

Freeport offers a combination of Smooth Jazz, Contemporary Jazz, and Jazz Standards. The four piece Jazz group consists of Steve Thornton on saxes, flute, percussion, Jo Daniels on keyboards, Tony Testa on drums, and Scott Marvill on guitar and basses.

Audience reactions have been great and they seem to not be able to get enough. They are hungry for Freeport's versatile styles of jazz. Freeport self-described slogan is "Jazz For All People". And that's just what they deliver.

The Jazz Network is exactly what the title suggests, a place where you get to mix and mingle with those who have not only an appreciation for Jazz but a forum to hear new up and coming artists as well. I've hooked up with so many of my old friends that I've lost contact with over the years here and it's been a great place to meet folk, appreciate good music and Musicianship. What an incredible idea!!

Barbara Carroll On Piano Jazz

Pianist and singer Barbara Carroll was host Marian McPartland's second guest during the first season of Piano Jazz. Thirty years later, Carroll makes a return appearance to reminisce with her friend about their experiences at the Hickory House and the Oak Room. Carroll gives a charming performance of "Very Early" and McPartland improvises a musical portrait of her guest.

Duke Ellington: Highlights Of His Twilight

The great composer and bandleader was distraught over the 1967 death of Billy Strayhorn, his songwriting and arranging partner of 28 years. But Ellington took Strayhorn's passing as an impetus, born of necessity, to increase his own productivity. Here are five examples.

Chris Potter Quartet On JazzSet

At the Village Vanguard, one flight down from the hubbub of New York City, in a tight space packed with people, we're about to embark on a musical odyssey by sea. Our captain is saxophonist Chris Potter, who's launching his Odyssey-inspired album The Sirens.

Pat Metheny And John Zorn: A Vivid Sound World

The two artists are known opposites in the world of instrumental music. On Metheny's latest, the jazz guitarist wrings an unexpectedly visual listening experience from Zorn's knotty compositions.

Sarah Vaughan: A New Box Set Revels In Glorious Imperfections

Divine: The Jazz Albums, 1954-1958 packs four CDs with Vaughan's music, recorded live or in the studio with bands big and small. Two live albums from Chicago nightclubs are standouts, partly when a performance threatens to slide off the rails.
