The Metropolitan Room Presents the Sultry Soulful Sounds of Toni Redd, Friday, April 19, 9:30 PM and 11:30 PM
Georgian born songstress, Toni Redd, is an internationally known vocalist with an intense style. The captivating and sultry vocal styling of Toni Redd combines traditional jazz, pop, classic soul, and urban rhythm & blues to create her own unique and powerful ambience - as she takes us on her musical trek via that down home, rich, old school sound that fully grasps the emotional heart and soul of her listeners.
During her illustrious career, Toni has had the honor of performing and sharing the stage with Najee, Gerald Albright, Stanley Jordan, Jonathan Butler, Everette Harp, The Temptations, Maysa, the Rippingtons, The Yellowjackets, Gerald Austin, Stanley Jordan, The Temptations, Oleta Adams, Walter Beasley, Joe McBride, Marion Meadows, Kim Waters, and many others.
In addition, Ms. Redd is an actor who has toured with the stage play “A Good Man is Still Hard to Find”; was a guest performer in the independent film “Losing Grace” and Tyler Perry’s “I Can Do Bad All By Myself.”
Winner of four SESAC Music Awards, and 20 recordings to his credit, Bob Baldwin is an internationally acclaimed pianist, composer, producer, author, and radio show host. He has shared the stage with such notables as Roy Ayers, Chuck Loeb, Gerald Albright, Marion Meadows, Armsted Christian, Dean James, Eric Essix, Najee, Will Downing, Grover Washington, Jr., Noel Pointer, Joey Sommerville, and Tom Browne to name a few. In 2010, with the permission of the Jackson family, Bob released his tribute to Michael Jackson, which included the chart topping song, "Never Can Say Goodbye."

Comment by Alonzo Ryan on May 15, 2011 at 5:32pm Hello everyone! I'm so glad to find more people who have a real passion for jazz like me! I'm 15 in West Windsor-Plainsboro, NJ. I just got my own quintet going and i'm really just looking for some advice spanning anything from getting gigs to life in the music world in general, and for other players in my area to jam with. I am also in search of a mentor with experience in jazz!

The Jazz Network is exactly what the title suggests, a place where you get to mix and mingle with those who have not only an appreciation for Jazz but a forum to hear new up and coming artists as well. I've hooked up with so many of my old friends that I've lost contact with over the years here and it's been a great place to meet folk, appreciate good music and Musicianship. What an incredible idea!!
