Hi -

Find yourself minus a bassist or a guitarist for that upcoming festival, venue, tour or gig? You want an experienced pro. Perhaps someone who has performed and recorded with the likes of Grover Washington Jr, The Temptations, Bob James, Four Tops, Tower Of Power, Special EFX, and many many others. He should be a good reader and have a vast and broad array of experience to ensure the best performance and be able to work easily with the other players. As the band leader for "FREEPORT" (

Bass and guitar samples in the Smooth Jazz and Fusion veins can be heard on my Myspace page at

If you do use sidemen for your performances please let me know what is required for consideration. My rates are flexible and I'll work with you. Also can provide remote recording as well.

For hire as a core or individually.

Chances are you have heard of the Contemporary Smooth Jazz group Freeport as they are regulars at festivals, top venues and notable events. Recently they have shared the stage with sophomoric artists, legends and Grammy award winners in the jazz community such as Bob James, Marion Meadows, Joyce Cooling, Paul Brown, Nils, Bob Baldwin, Matt Marshak, Dee Lucas, Marcus Johnson and the list goes on. Some past highlights have been recording and performing with Tower Of Power, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Special EFX, and Grover Washington Jr.

The Jazz Network is exactly what the title suggests, a place where you get to mix and mingle with those who have not only an appreciation for Jazz but a forum to hear new up and coming artists as well. I've hooked up with so many of my old friends that I've lost contact with over the years here and it's been a great place to meet folk, appreciate good music and Musicianship. What an incredible idea!!

Duke Ellington: Highlights Of His Twilight

The great composer and bandleader was distraught over the 1967 death of Billy Strayhorn, his songwriting and arranging partner of 28 years. But Ellington took Strayhorn's passing as an impetus, born of necessity, to increase his own productivity. Here are five examples.

Chris Potter Quartet On JazzSet

At the Village Vanguard, one flight down from the hubbub of New York City, in a tight space packed with people, we're about to embark on a musical odyssey by sea. Our captain is saxophonist Chris Potter, who's launching his Odyssey-inspired album The Sirens.

Pat Metheny And John Zorn: A Vivid Sound World

The two artists are known opposites in the world of instrumental music. On Metheny's latest, the jazz guitarist wrings an unexpectedly visual listening experience from Zorn's knotty compositions.

Sarah Vaughan: A New Box Set Revels In Glorious Imperfections

Divine: The Jazz Albums, 1954-1958 packs four CDs with Vaughan's music, recorded live or in the studio with bands big and small. Two live albums from Chicago nightclubs are standouts, partly when a performance threatens to slide off the rails.

Rudresh Mahanthappa On Piano Jazz

Mahanthappa brings an explosive blend of jazz and South Indian classical music to the studio.
