Tell us a little about your background...
FIRST I want to note how PROUD I am to have a son serving in the USAF who recently returned from a tour in IRAQ.
MAN I WISH I COULD BE MORE LIKE MY SON!!! HE TAUGHT ME EVERYTHING I KNOW :-)

I encourage you to find Aaron's page also here in THE JAZZ NETWORK!
I don't agree with this war but I certainly agree with SUPPORTING our troops especially those in harms way! Now then, onto something a little less stressful; I want to say how much I appreciate the opportunity to be involved in a cutting edge network as JAIJAI has no doubt already invested countless hours in putting this together for us and I for one never want to be guilty of being unthankful, SO, THANK YOU JAIJAI FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK AND EFFORT TO MAKE THIS GREAT NETWORK.
I have been singing for 30 years but only really decided to do something with my music recently. I was invited to the network by Lady Haig of whom I have grown to know an love in such a short time and I am very excited about meeting lots of fellow jazzers. I have done a lot of Television and Radio live and pre-recorded years ago but only in the Christian music venue so I am really excited about singing Jazz/Swing for it has always been a love of my life and I have always said that I was born 25 years too late, if ya knows what I mean. And I thinks ya do be do be do! :-)

I love the new jazz but I would have to admit that the big bands and the old swing style is my first love as it is obvious in my tunes. I LOVE SINGING AND I LOVE JAZZ!

LATEST UPDATE ON AARON IN IRAQ

Posted on April 1, 2008 at 2:27am 2 Comments

I just heard from Aaron at 0318 hrs and it is now official; he is back in Baghdad “inside the wire” or in the safe zone. He will remain there until he leaves for Kuwait then on to Germany then on to Denver. He will be there for a while and then travel to Houston to be with me for a couple of weeks. He should arrive in Denver. Please continue to pray for his safe trip home and I want to thank all of you who have so diligently prayed for his safety while in Iraq. If ever I can return the favor,… Continue

Great news on my son AARON currently serving in the USAF in Iraq

Posted on March 14, 2008 at 5:03pm 4 Comments

He called me from a satelite phone while transferring from one operating base to another and he is doing great and is safe and very ready to be home. He is to be in Kuwait on the 10th of April and will then depart from there to probably Germany then to home right outside of Denver. He will spend some much needed private time with his family and then I will be graced with his presence for a couple of weeks while we record several tunes together. We are very excited about this project and I am… Continue

Thanks for adding me on here! I'd like to introduce myself. I'm a jazz saxophone player -- Been one all my life. Started playing gigs in New York City when I was 15 years old. Now I live in Houston, and I released my debut album last year. I'd played on lots of other artists' albums, but I was always more focused on live performances for myself. I'm pretty happy with my album though! If you are interested you can check it out: http://larryslezak.com/blog/buy-the-album/.

If you get a chance, I'd love to learn more about you! Message me back if you have time.

Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.

I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.

My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."

Let's be audacious, my friends!
