Tell us a little about your background...
Kevin “ Brandino “ Brandon (2008)
The last three years have been amazing for the man who beat all the odds to become one of the most prominent and successful bassists of our time. His rise began when the rap group, OutKast won the coveted Grammy awards for both “Album of the Year” as well as “Best Rap Album of the Year” –an album on which Kevin Brandon - also known as Brandino - performed and had the opportunity to work with producer Andre Benjamin. Brandino has been on a non-stop flight to the top ever since.
Moving into 2005, the Brandino flight was reaching even higher. Brandino returned to the studio to work on a variety of recording projects for such artists as Mary J. Blige (Geffen Records), Brandy (Atlantic Records), J 1 (Capital Records), Jamiroquai (Sony Records) and Jesse McCartney (Hollywood Records). He also completed a live concert album with his jazz trio called “Brandino Live” as well as two other solo records, “Brandino and Friends” and “Summertime”, scheduled for release by the end of 2008.
2006 was a fabulous year with Brandino adding to his long list of accomplishments: The All Star Tribute Record release for Luther Vandross on which Brandino performed the Grammy winning song “So Amazing” by artists Beyonce and Stevie Wonder. The year rounded out with stellar performances on the 2006 Grammy Best R&B Album of the Year “ Breakthrough ” by Mary J. Blige and a standout performance at the American Music Awards with Jamie Foxx.
2007 began roughly, though. Brandino was involved in a car accident that almost cost him his life. He survived that ordeal and then continued the year working on the Producer Guild Awards, He then worked on The 2007 Grammy nominated “Album of the Year” and “Best Pop Vocal Album” by Justin Timberlake “FutureSex/Love Sounds” Following those, Brandino worked on new albums by Joss Stone, Robby Krieger (of the Doors), Eric Benet, and the UNCF award show salute to Smokey Robinson, which featured an array of stars such as John Legend, Macy Gray, Joss Stone, Heather Headley, Anita Baker, Smokey Robinson, and Stevie Wonder . Currently, Brandino is back to composing for a new reality show “Hollywood Uncensored” and finishing up his song book “Brandino’s Hits” a collection of compositions from his two solo albums.
For decades, Brandino has also worked within the television industry, and his credits include three Emmy Awards for his work in 1985, 1986 and 1992 as a composer for the daytime soap opera “Santa Barbara”.
Brandino is also actively involved in instrument design and the advancement of music technology. New products featuring Kevin’s design ideas include the Brandino Bass by Brandon Enterprises co-developed with Kenny Klimax . Their signature innovation is a 5-string Acoustic/Electric Upright bass that is really starting to open some eyes to the wonder of this phenomenal instrument.
Brandino’s six Grammys and three Emmy awards reflect the man’s love and dedication to the entertainment industry.
Kevin Brandon a.k.a Brandino has been featured in advertisements and interviews for such companies as: Chittare Magazine (Italy ), Bassplayer Magazine - GK amps 2007 (USA) , Warwick Basses 2006 (Germany), IK Multimedia 2006 (Italy), M-Audio 2006 (USA), Guitar One Magazine for Levy's Leather (Canada), Soundwear (Germany), BBE Sound, and Pedal Snake (USA) just to name a few.

New CD Release from Brandino and Friends

“ Live at Charlie O’s 2008

Brandino & Friends: "The average jazz band and average jazz listener expect the same-old average jazz. If that's you, you need to wake up and go see Brandino & Friends. They are anything but average. While the instrumentation is traditional, this band's approach to jazz ranges from muscular, propulsive and meaty, to subtle, sophisticated and sensitive. The be-bop rages, and the ballads soar. This is jazz… Continue

Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.

I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.

My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."

Let's be audacious, my friends!
