Her smooth sound and delivery of her R and B and Gospel
roots run deep. A preachers daughter Jessie grew up singing the gospel music in her church, but it was jazz that began to capture her.
Before long jazz and R&B began to dominate her musical tastes. Being heavily influenced by several people in the entertainment industry, Jessie packed up and moved to Hollywood. After a short time on the West Coast, Jessie found herself caught up with alcohol and pregnant. Jessie left the LA spotlight after a prophetic call from a close family member who warned Jessie that she would return back to Kentucky in a wooden box if she didn’t change her life. Taking heed of the warning, Jessie found herself heading back on a plane to Kentucky with a karaoke machine in one hand, a suitcase in the other, and a 7 month old baby inside of her. Unfortunately that very same baby would pass away just three months later.
Jessie found herself plummeting into a deep depression. In her pain, Jessie concluded that suicide would be her only answer and her way out. But as fate would have it, that attempt would lead to her rediscovering God and finding her new salvation. This would shift her life. While on the edge of life and death, Jessie found her way back to her roots of Gospel Music. She then began intertwining it with the Jazz she loved, creating a unique sound called Gospel Jazz.
With her new-found sound, Jessie would meet and begin working with producer Eric Copeland of Creative Soul Jazz. This collaboration brought her new debut album“ On the Edge” in which she wrote many of the songs.
Currently Jessie has launches her own production company called Jessie Laine Powell Production based in the beautiful city of Lexington, KY. She is current traveling and sing all across America and being salt in other parts of the world. Currently, she is working on her newest release on Creative Soul Jazz entitled “Fill the Void.”
In addition to her production company, Jessie has also launched Indie Factor Movement. IFM is designed to help bridge the gap for the independent artist, giving them the tools to be a united front and help them reach the next level in their musical careers. Through Indie Factor Movement, Jessie has the opprotunity to exercise all her gifts and her talents such as vocal training, advisor, and mentor.
Jessie Laine Powell is a force and a sound to be reckoned with in the twenty-first century. Jessie gives God the glory for every mountain and trial she has overcome

I am a full time vocalist, sort of- I also write songs, book, manage, market, etc. I am currently recording my 4th CD, and this one is all original music! I am really excited about it! The other three were covers- love songs, Christmas tunes & standards- so I'm pretty busy with the whole business! Crazy, isn't it? How about you?
HI Jessie! Thanks for the connection- Love your music. Damn, you can sing! I'm new to the network, and a little overwhelmed with the many social marketing sites. It is nice to hear from someone in the business! Best of luck!
Hi Jessie, thank you for the Jazz Network connection. I would be glad to play your music on my Jazz station. Do you have a download page? I also accept promo CDs mailed to Music Radio, P.O. Box 1039, Oakhurst, N.J. 07755. Again, thanks for your friendship. Regards, Ron

The Jazz Network Worldwide is comprised of all the subsets of the industry worldwide from managers, agents, publicists, venues, festivals, radio stations, studios, musicians, vocalists, etc. and of course fans. Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.
I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.
My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."
Let's be audacious, my friends!
