Tell us a little about your background...
I am a self taught musician and vocalist. In most cases in my past I have been a band leader. It wasn't until recently I began to venture out on my own as a vocalist. I have been a keyboard player since my teenage years, now as a vocalist, having a working knowledge of the keyboard has shown itself to be a tremendous asset. I have been getting out and making new friends on the musical scene. I am finding that singing without playing the keyboard has actually been quite liberating. I have been performing everything from R&B to Jazz. The jazz community has received me very warmly. For this I am truly grateful. I believe I have found my niche. I am quite comfortable in a jazz setting as well as R&B and I hope to be around for years to come. My warmest regards Kevin G. Martin - Vocalist.

Band Auditions

Posted on March 11, 2010 at 3:56pm 0 Comments

I was doing a lot of auditions, trying to catch on with a band in my area. After about five months of searching I think I found one that is a fit. The Studio G Band from Coram NY....I was starting to get real frustrating. The music scene on Long Island leaves alot to be desired of. PEACE

Black Tie Affair

Attended Jimmy Holloways annual Black Tie Affair at the New York Hilton on Saturday Jan. 30th 2010. It was great as usual and I got a chance to perform with the Eric Frazier Quintet. It was a great time had by all.

Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.

I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.

My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."

Let's be audacious, my friends!
