Tell us a little about your background...
Twin brothers Kendall and Kelvis Duffie have enjoyed success in this fast growing era of the independent artist and label by staying true to what they love. Since the release of their 2002 debut “On Kloud 9”, they have become one of the most beloved new soul acts around.

2007 proved to be a ground breaking year for the guys with US tour dates opening for the Isley Brothers, The Whispers, Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly and winning the Soultracks Awards for best duo/group in Detroit, MI.

The new album features the single “Can’t Be Love” currently garnering nationwide airplay by syndicated radio personality Michael Baisden. And the smooth jazz infused “All That Matters”.

Baisden who is heard on 70 stations nationwide has been successful at tagging a core group of artist as “B Side” has now added Kloud 9 to his mix.

The album also features a hot dance floor song entitled “Everything Is Good 2nite” featuring UK Funk-Jazz band Incognito. There’s also a remix of the same song that should more than satisfy the house and dance music crowd.

See what the industry is saying about Kloud 9!

R&B legend Walter Scott of the Whispers says “These are some super talented brothers no question about it. The world is gonna hear from them”

Recording artists and longtime friend and supporter Maysa Leak says “This is quality soul music at its best; cool, smooth and sexy is exactly what Kloud 9 represents!”

"Can't Be Love" is a standout/feel good song that will please any R&B listener. Kloud 9 continues to remain relevant with great music." -Akim Bryant Associate Manager, Urban Programming Music Choice.

“Wonderful work from Kloud 9 -- one of the classiest soul acts around and one of the few who really know how to make the male duo style work!” -Rick Wojcik Store manager, Dusty Grooves Record Store Chicago.

“The duo’s melodic, smooth material simply mesmerizes” – Jazzreview.com

“Soul music’s hottest new property” – Blues and Soul magazine

“Enjoy The Ride” is an album that will satisfy the musical appetite of soul fans both young and old and introduce many to a new level of excellence in R&B music.

Look for the album in-stores nationwide and online August 11th 2009 on Shanachie Entertainment.

Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.

I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.

My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."

Let's be audacious, my friends!

All The Things You Are: Aretha's Life In Jazz

Jazz was central to Aretha Franklin's musicianship, however far she rambled. Without it we'd be remembering a different artist now, and celebrating a different body of work.

More Than Keeping Time: A Melodic Drumming Demo

Drummers usually make sure beats don't speed up or slow down. But drummer Allison Miller does more than keep time. Watch a demonstration of her unique style of playing called melodic drumming.

Tower Of Power: Tiny Desk Concert

Even from its beginnings in late-'60s Oakland, the band has always stood out. Fifty years later, its devotion to classic horn-driven soul remains unmatched, its passion and precision unchanged.
