I love music. Jazz, pop, classical, reggae, soul, funk. Hip hop is OK sometimes. I have two little boys who are a handful. I love to travel to interesting locales. I went to Asia- Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand recently. I travel often to nice places to perform.

OK, I am finally getting on the case! Time is so elusive!
Here is some entry from my journal that I started back on March 10, 2008

What a trip! Three weeks so many places. So many faces. So many stories. How can I begin to tell it all? How can I remember what ha… Continue

Hello there,

I would be curious to know your feelings on Singapore. My father lived there for a little while and absolutely love it although he says he wouldn't go back lol. Odd but reality. Delete Comment

Hi Lafeyette,
Thanks for dropping through...and for the kind comments.

Yes... That had to be the Carnegie Hall (Fiddlefest) event which resulted in the "Music of The Heart" movie. I felt honored to participate in that event and it helped to save a really nice string program in NYC. Please send my regards to Diane Monroe.

I am really diggin' that track "A Little Feel Thing". It's 'Monkish/Miles-ish'.

I've been to all those Asian countries you mention and I am sure you will have had a wonderful time. ...Malaysia does a wonderful Mango dacquery...

God Bless!

Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.

I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.

My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."

Let's be audacious, my friends!

Dear Jaijai:

What a wonderful thing you have created here and thanks so much for the fabulous feature you did for my music and me. As I am new to TJN I am fascinated by what you have created. There are so many talented artists here and it feels like I’ve gone to heaven. Your father and I were close friends over the years and Duffy still is. He played in my trio at Arturo’s in Miami Beach last summer. (2007) And I have worked with him off and on since he was 12 years old. I just know your father is very proud of you and the site is a work of art! You have created something of real value for the jazz community and all I can say is Bravo!

"The Jazz Network has come into being at just the right time. I believe that we are forever in need of spiritual and artistic enrichment and the way I see it, music, particularly jazz music, is all about the spirit. The Jazz Network allows us to reach out to our fellow artists across the world, in a way that has not been seen before, enlightening us as to who's out there making hip and happening music and helping to shape the culture. Whether artists approach this music from traditional perspectives or attempt to create new and radical sub-genres of jazz, the Jazz Network
is providing exposure, performance and recording opportunities that we might never have found on our own.

The Jazz Network is an amazing resource for the Jazz community. I'm
honored and happy to be a part of it.

Jaijai, thanks for your faith and what you're doing for the jazz community"

Best,
Nicolas
