Lorree K. Slye has not received any gifts yet

Lorree K. Slye is one of the last breed's of true singers this country and the world will hear and get to know. She has been compared to some of the greatest singers who have performed in this world. Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Billy Holiday, Phylliss Hyman and Nancy Wilson. Her vocals are skillful with a flare of unmistakable class reminiscent of years gone by with a refreshing sound of today that can calm the savage. She sings it all and represents a higher life calling. She is the real "deal" who ministers music wrapped up in a captivating personage conveying song messages that penetrates the soul creating a personal and enjoyable experience for the listener reaching the true heart. She is the 21st century song stylist and a "jazz inspirationalist" with an uplifting message. She is a songwriter and Educator, as well. You will love any rendition this artists renders in any genre. You will never be the same after experiencing Lorree K. Slye. This "gal" has it all.
After several years of singing with a variety of groups and performing in night clubs, she experience an epiphany and felt the dynamic call of the Lord, Jesus Christ compelling her to use her vocal gifts for the work of “The Kingdom.” as well. She has appeared with Cab Calloway, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Kelly Price, Jean Carne, Shirley Jones, Maysa, Albertina Walker, Yolanda Adams, Donnie McClurkin, BeBe Winans, Tramaine Hawkins, Michael W. Smith, Crystal Lewis, the Clark Sisters, Karen Clark Sheard, Donald Lawrence, Maurette Brown Clark, Ted and Sheri, and Vanessa Williams and her recordings include “You Saved Me” (Lorree Slye) which was designed to raise funds to create hospitals for sick Children in Uganda.,“Sunday Morning Praise” (Derrick "Tony" Lewis), “Persuaded” (Richard Smallwood and Vision), and “Another Perspective” (Jeremiah Murphy).

She has been a featured with Darin Atwater’s, Soulful Symphony performing at the Strathmore, Mechanic and Lyric Theater. She has also been featured as a guest jazz artist with the Heritage Signature Choral under the direction of Stanley Thurston at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center.
In 2008 Lorree joined the faculty at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts as an Associate Professor of Voice. She also continues to provide private instruction here in Washington and at the Ottley School of Music.
"I tell my students, 'I'm here to blow a h*** in the myth that singing is easy.' But if we're well trained, we can make it look effortless. Singers are multitaskers; we have to do so many things simultaneously. We've got to breathe, we've got to read, we've got to count, we've got to interpret. And because we're interpreting, we have to use every emotion—we have to be actors. If students are going to study with me, I want them to understand that we're going to deal with the whole spectrum of their emotions. We are the voice of the composer when we sing.
“Lorree K.Slye is a joy to work with because she hears and responds to everything that her musicians play. She supports her natural vocal ability with years of experience AND training, which is a rare combination in the music industry. She has the skill of a true jazz singer and the spiritual sensitivity of a gospel singer, and i believe we have only heard a small portion of what she has to offer.” ~ Reginald Reid, Lorree Slye’s Producer & Keyboardist
“What I really want to do is be an encouraging spirit regardless of what venue I’m in, I want to come in and be a positive force, after being in my presence, I want to make your situation better, a vision of hope, a storyteller, a sincere person that wants to share, I don’t want to be anyone else other than who God made me to be”. ~ Lorree K. Slye

The Jazz Network is exactly what the title suggests, a place where you get to mix and mingle with those who have not only an appreciation for Jazz but a forum to hear new up and coming artists as well. I've hooked up with so many of my old friends that I've lost contact with over the years here and it's been a great place to meet folk, appreciate good music and Musicianship. What an incredible idea!!
