Tell us a little about your background...
Mary Ann Young is a multiple award-winning singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Tennessee. As a prolific singer-songwriter, Mary Ann has written a vast array of compositions with styles ranging from easy listening, worship, ballads, folk rock, pop, and classical. Her composition, "A Great Big World" has won multiple international songwriting awards *see Song of the Year recognitions for 2008, 2009, and 2010 as well as Great American Song Contest for 2008 and 2009. Her powerful song, "THE REASON THAT I SING" (available for purchase on this site) came very close to being mentioned in SPIN Magazine where she placed SECOND several months in a row based on popularity votes during an International Contest in 2008-2009. If Mary Ann had placed first during any one of those months, she would have been granted special recognition as an up-and-coming artist in SPIN Magazine.

One cannot speak of these songs without mentioning her composition "TO HAVE LOVED AND LOST." This instrumental - created within the span of just a few hours - continues to touch listeners throughout the world. At the age of eight, Mary Ann began her studies in piano and having an unusually gifted ear for music, began pursuing other instruments not long after. At the age of ten, she began her studies in percussion where she learned how to play a wide variety of percussive instruments. At the age of sixteen, Mary Ann began playing the guitar which continues to be one of her most favorite instruments to this day.

In a world where life can be extremely difficult for both young and old alike, many have experienced encouragement and healing through Mary Ann Young's music. God is the foundation on which Mary Ann creates her compositions as her spirituality flows deeply through her veins. One will find that love and passion for truth and justice permeate throughout the repertoire of this contemporary female composer.

*I just released a new album for 2018 titled INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC TO SOOTHE YOUR SOUL available now! Please go to my website for details.

Welcome Mary Ann, its so great to see you here. I hope you enjoy yourself with all this great artistry in one place.

Let me know about you and your music. Anything new on the horizon?

Love to you,

Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.

I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.

My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."

Let's be audacious, my friends!
