- I am a unique and original composer, arranger, instrumentalist, pedagogue with decades of blood sweat and tears experience in the life, with a deep love for jazz and music in general,
more particularly improvised music.
....still strivin' to better myself as person and an artist, and
perpetuate the MUSIC in an uncompromising way.
I was born in NYC and have lived in France, Russia, Japan, Taiwan and Brazil. I have traveled to approximately 20 other countries.
I consider myself a citizen of the world...
I am basically an autodidact (self taught) musician and composer.
I did spend some time @ Jazz Mobile, Berklee and the New School back in the day...all @ a relatively elementary level.

A few words about the photos...the little guy with the sopranino sax, and the young man with the the upright bass are one and the same...my son Alex.
The band pix are from a performance of the Bahia Band in Salvador Bahia Brazil last year.
...the paintings that are part of my photo slide show are by Sawadogo, he also did the art work along with Hanjo Maertsch on the cover of my most recent CD "Bahia Band" and backdrop seen in the photos of the Bahia Band on stage...
SAWADOGO is from Burkina Fasso West Afrika and resides in Aix en Provence, France. He can be contacted thru me.

World Jazz/Bahia

The Bahia Band (my most recent foray into the world of "World Jazz") is a project that developed after visiting Salvador (Bahia) Brazil several times during the recording and mixing of the Speak in Tones “Subaro” project (2003-2004). I fell in love with it’s people and it’s music. I have now come to make it one of my homes. The Jazz Network is exactly what the title suggests, a place where you get to mix and mingle with those who have not only an appreciation for Jazz but a forum to hear new up and coming artists as well. I've hooked up with so many of my old friends that I've lost contact with over the years here and it's been a great place to meet folk, appreciate good music and Musicianship. What an incredible idea!!
