- Chitarrista, compositore e arrangiatore nato a Napoli nel 1963, Nicola Mingo è uno dei maggiori esponenti europei della chitarra modern mainstream jazz. Studia armonia jazzistica e contemporaneamente chitarra classica con maestri del conservatorio. Diplomato al Conservatorio S. Pietro a Maiella nel 1985, si perfeziona attraverso stage e seminari con i più importanti esponenti della chitarra jazz (Joe Pass, Jim Hall, Joe Diorio) suonando, nel contempo, con Bill Pierce, Terence Blanchard, Cedar Walton, Billy Higgins e Paul Jeffrey. Lo stile di Mingo rielabora e fonde in modo personale e creativo il linguaggio dei grandi creatori del bop Charlie Parker e Dizzy Gillespie con lo stile chitarristico di Wes Montgomery. Nel 1992 inizia la sua attività discografica e, con WE REMEMBER CLIFFORD, è alla sua sesta esperienza discografica in qualità di leader, la prima su etichetta EmArcy, la stessa su cui Clifford Brown ha inciso più di mezzo secolo fa una storica serie di capolavori.

The Jazz Network is exactly what the title suggests, a place where you get to mix and mingle with those who have not only an appreciation for Jazz but a forum to hear new up and coming artists as well. I've hooked up with so many of my old friends that I've lost contact with over the years here and it's been a great place to meet folk, appreciate good music and Musicianship. What an incredible idea!!
