Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.
I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.
My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."

I am a New York City based singer, lyricist, composer, poet and educator. My most recent recording, Circle Completing, is a set of lyrical duets with pianist John DiMartino that, in addition to being a tribute to the legendary singer Jimmy Scott, pays homage to my roots in standards and blues and encapsulates some of my life story thus far.
I have two new recordings as a sideman coming out soon, Toward The Hill Of Joy with trombonist, composer George Brandon's Septet, tentative release date January, 2010 and one that I've just completed, a live recording with legendary avant garde multi-instrumentalist and founder of Birth Records, Gunter Hampel and his European Trio on October 5, 2009 in NYC.
Currently, I lead: The Nora McCarthy Qu 'ART' et and A Small Dream In Red - Voice and Saxophone Duo. I co-lead with alto saxophonist Jorge Sylvester, The ConceptualMotion 20-piece all original music Orchestra; and, The ACE (Afro-Caribbean-Experimental) Collective.
I recently was asked to join UKJazzRadio.com and I presents "New York Jazz Expressions" a show which features a vast array of vocal and instrumental jazz recordings from early jazz to the avant-garde and free music art forms highlighting those artists currently on the cutting edge of the scene today as well as those legendary artists whose contributions to the music are undeniable. An exciting journey into the music that is synonymous with New York City.
For the past 5 years, I've been a member of "A Chorus of Poets" conducted by Lawrence D. "Butch" Morris.
Through my vast experience in the jazz and creative music field, I have developed a unique approach to teaching voice and improvisation and founded "The Zen Of Singing...The Spiritual Path To Finding Your Voice" ™ and I teach privately, conduct workshop world-wide and offer on-line instruction through my teaching website.
