Colleen McNabb "Don't Go To Strangers" Zucca Records

Posted on February 19, 2009 at 2:19am 0 Comments

I'm very excited for vocalist Colleen McNabb.
We did a recording session together with Jazz Legends, Buddy Montgomery (Brother of Wes), on Vibes, and Piano.
Joe Chambers on drums, and her fiance' Joey DeFrancesco, on Hammond B3.
I have a solo on "For All We Know".
The big news is as of this week her project is at #23 on the
Feb 16, 2009 Jazzweek.com charts! Look for her label

Joey Defrancesco at Kerr

Posted on February 11, 2009 at 4:05pm 0 Comments

We have a great performance venue in Scottsdale, AZ
The Kerr Cultural Center. It's especially helpful for us
Independent Artists, to have venues that work with us to
keep budgets affordable. This is such a place.
Joey D. is performing March 4th, his guests will include
Zucca records Artist, Colleen McNabb, and Guests
Maybe some of us can play there, and split the bill.
Peace, and keep playing the notes, nobody wrote.

Grammy Awards:Let them play!

Posted on February 10, 2009 at 2:22am 0 Comments

It wasn't what I saw Sunday, but rather what I didn't see at the Grammy Awards.
Herbie,Natalie Cole, and Charlie Hayden simply announcing
winners, and not sharing their gifts with a viewing audience, that won't usually be exposed to this great music.
This vital part of the tapestry of American Music, should always have a place on that stage.
What say you?
Best regards to everyone, and let's keep shining.

Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.

I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.

My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."

Let's be audacious, my friends!
