Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.
I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.
My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."

START OF MUSIC BACKGROUND
Violin as a child, leader of school orchestra then local youth orchestra's
Royal school of music exams (external candidate)
Rebelled onto Guitar as a teenager then Bass playing Rock, Soul, Funk etc. Listened to jazz when possible it was not as available as in the USA.
Then self taught, school of life, playing and sitting in with some of the top local players, scary but necessary.
THE PLAYING YEARS
I love music of all types and was an up to
5 nights a week Gigging Guitarist and Bass player for quite some years. Then in 2001 a drunk driver decided I should be in retirement for a while ( Perhaps I didn't play his request or let him sing My Way! - I'm not sure!) Anyway!!! ( I so like drunk drivers even less than I did before) "Oh Well" so no more playing. It's not all bad though it forces one of those defining moments where you, check your priorities, family, friends, and your life's direction and see the many other beauties in life. So!!! "Been There Done That" (And Have Learned A Lot) and I have moved on and would like to experience that special connection with an audience and other players again as am now able to play a little bit on bass Guitar, Synth, and guitar after all these years, and I am making progress! In the meantime Sites like THE JAZZ NETWORK WORLDWIDE - Jazz Player.com and Youtube are great therapy. I am meeting some amazing people and it's also keeping me up to speed with what is happening in jazz music.
WHY I LOVE JAZZ MUSIC!!
To me Jazz Is Real Life, a fusion of experiences in and out of music which resurface later when playing, Freedom of expression, that special link in the moment with other players and listeners.
