What is your affiliation to the Jazz World?
Musical Artist, Producer, Vocalist, Arranger, Composer, Recording Engineer, Sound - Lighting - Staging, Recording Studio
Tell us a little about your background...
This multi-talented creative musician, songwriter, vocalist, arranger and producer, has taken the music industry by storm. His versatile, lyrically inspirational songs and tremendous gift for creating memorable melodies out of the air are uniquely well known. As an exceptional musical visionary, his innate talent is shared with many aspiring recording artists in the Urban, R&B, Gospel and Jazz genres. Q Productions, Inc. was created to help these artists explore and fine-tune their own musical abilities and creativity. You can hear one of Q's Productions on the new Mike Phillips CD M.P.3 with Stevie Wonder,Norman Brown and Marcus Miller off the Hidden beach label. In addition, Q, P, Inc. Produces and engineering, as well as offers vocal coaching.

After transitioning to inspirational jazz, in 2003 the CD entitled “Better Late Than Never” hit the airwaves. This was a blend of jazz, pop, R&B and inspirational tracks, which received international acclaim. Today the popularity is still growing in the U.S., United Kingdom, Germany and Japan. With a contemporary jazz feel and subliminally spiritual message, “Better Late Than Never” smoothly highlights the various phases of life. Although, the title track “Better Late Than Never” pays tribute to Oscar winners Denzel Washington and Halle Berry, it also reminds listeners, “It is never too late to pursue your dream.”

Currently, “Q” has opened for top jazz artists such as: Jonathan Butler, Joe Samples and Pieces of Dream at various jazz concert series held in Atlanta. Also, he is performing (by special request) at corporate and cultural events throughout the country. His second CD “Everything You Need” is scheduled to be release in June. With great anticipation, he looks forward to breaking through today’s “Cookie Cutter” musical clutter with his own unique style and delivery. This smooth, mellow and uplifting music will satisfy all who hear it . . . guaranteed!

The Jazz Network is exactly what the title suggests, a place where you get to mix and mingle with those who have not only an appreciation for Jazz but a forum to hear new up and coming artists as well. I've hooked up with so many of my old friends that I've lost contact with over the years here and it's been a great place to meet folk, appreciate good music and Musicianship. What an incredible idea!!

Sarah Vaughan: A New Box Set Revels In Glorious Imperfections

Divine: The Jazz Albums, 1954-1958 packs four CDs with Vaughan's music, recorded live or in the studio with bands big and small. Two live albums from Chicago nightclubs are standouts, partly when a performance threatens to slide off the rails.

Rudresh Mahanthappa On Piano Jazz

Mahanthappa brings an explosive blend of jazz and South Indian classical music to the studio.

Grady Tate On Piano Jazz

Grady Tate began his jazz career as a much-celebrated drummer, backing such icons as Wes Montgomery, Ella Fitzgerald, and Quincy Jones. Tate has since traded in his skins for a microphone at center stage, where he delivers smooth and soulful baritone vocals. With pianist John di Martino, Tate sings "Everybody Loves My Baby" and "Where Do You Start."

Woody Herman At 100: 'A Blues Player From His Heart'

He was a soulful reedman, an amazing talent scout for decades and a bandleader of one of the country's most popular acts. Born in 1913, Herman led "Thundering Herds" that were both big draws and well-respected by the likes of Igor Stravinsky. Here are five recordings which still sound fresh today.

Edmar Castañeda And Friends On JazzSet

Hear passionate improvisation across borders on Colombian harp, Argentinian bandoneón, Venezuelan cuatro and vibes from the U.S. In a set with Castañeda, his trio and special guests perform at the Americas Society in New York.
