The photo is of me and my Very, Very white friend who I adore because she says very little and listens real well.
I am 65 and have been listening to Jazz since the age of 15 (Oh my God , that's 50 years what happened to time) .
I am a whistler. I sing a littlle mostly for my own entertainment,. I try to play a little bit of piano, but mostly I am a fantastic listener and a long time Jazz fanatic.
Jazz musicians are my favorite people. I don't think that there is a greater or more friendly group of people than those that are in the Jazz community.
I run a business that employs 54 people so I don't really have the time to go to very many live events. But I am an avid listener and supporter of WBGO, WKCR, Jazz Foundation of America, and Jazz at Lincoln Center., and I can count many friends among the Jazz community.

From your "about me" it sounds like you could use a break! You might want to consider joining us on the Playboy Jazz Cruise next January where you can hang with Marcus Miller, Herbie Hancock, James Carter, Eldar, Dianne Reeves, Keb' Mo', Roy Hargrove, Roberta Gambarini, Poncho Sanchez, New Birth Brass Band and more. Sounds like your kind of vacation. We'd love to see you onboard...and you've got a year to play your getaway! You can check it out at http://www.playboyjazzcruise.com.
All the best to you,
Keep trying, there are so many people joining that I think the system is feeling alittle taxed at the moment, plus make sure your pics are a jpg format and not too large. Let me know if you still need me. While you wait, tool around and meet some people. :-)
Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.
I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.
My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."
Let's be audacious, my friends!
