I'm very serious. I wish we were closer I'd have you sing with my quartet at a club in Suffern, NY, called the NV lounge. But technology makes what used to be impossible , possible. I've listened to you now at least 5 times doing Summertime. I'm in the middle of two projects whereas I'm the Artist rather than the MD. I have a some called " A Smile" in which I collaborated with a talented brother from NYC named Brotha.Deep. If you search Wayne Cobham on Itunes or Amazon.com,mpe downloads you'll run across it. Then there is a CD about 3 years in the making called "The Best Is Yet 2 Come" that I'm trying to do a final mix on. But in any event, I am truly pleased to make your acquaintance and will be thinking about a way we can do something together. Thanks again for the reach out! Do you ever get up to NYC?
Holla!

Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.

I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.

My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."

Let's be audacious, my friends!

Fred Hersch And The Art Of Introspection

We join the pianist at his loft in SoHo to talk about his upbringing in Cincinnati, late-night gigs in New York, his recovery from a coma in 2008, and his adaptation of Walt Whitman's poetry.

How Benny Goodman Orchestrated 'The Most Important Concert In Jazz History'

Eighty years ago, barriers were broken when Benny Goodman took a mixed race band to play jazz to Carnegie Hall.

Review: The Bad Plus, 'Never Stop II'

Each album by The Bad Plus can be understood as a planted flag, a marker of group identity. Hear the jazz trio's first record with new pianist Orrin Evans.

Songs We Love: Kat Edmonson, 'Old Fashioned Gal'

On the first single from Old Fashioned Gal, Edmonson pines for a respite from pop-up ads and notifications, for a phone "inextricably connected to a wall."

Lorraine Desmarais On Piano Jazz
