Okemos, Michigan.........(Hold up your right hand facing you and then point to the middle of your palm....that's where I live!
Tell us a little about your background...
I am a jazz singer, recording artist, mom, wife and professor of jazz at Michigan State University. I have it all...music, family, and a new generation of jazz singers to mentor, great students that have a passion for music. I love jazz and have sung it all of my life. I have brand new duo CD out with the Great pianist, Tom Garvin called " A Gentle Time - When Sunny Meets Tom".....couldn't be luckier or more blessed. I get to sing this music and teach it to the next generation. What could be better than that?
How did you hear about the Jazz Network? Please give full name of contact
My dear friend Jai Jai Jackson brought me on board. This is such a fun site. Everytime I come on, it makes me feel good!
What is your website address? Only websites that pertain to your business and how you can be contacted.
Sunny, I couldn't help but see that your beautiful spirit showed up in this "great place to hang", sure makes it a better place when you are present. Miss you, my mentor and friend...let's promote whatever you are doing.
What a pleasant surprise! It's so nice to hear from you. I've been out since late Jan. and won't be back in town until late June. I got the call to do Las Vegas with Luis Miguel last Aug. He liked the additional 4 of an 8 piece horn section so much, he kept calling us back. So here we are in Mexico for the last 2 months, with more of Latin America to come. Then US and Spain, maybe Italy later 2011.
How are you my dear? Miss seeing and playing with you mutually. Hope to hang one day soon before it's too long. Your website sounds amazing. All The Best to You and Your Loved Ones.
Hi Sunny... Well, just tuned in to MyPage after an eon of not checking in. I was doing a lot of writing, but then took a little break just to take in music and rejuvenate myself. Came back with fresh ideas, and once again another break. As far as a cd, gonna wait until all my ducks are in a row, then move from there. Gary has an issue with his left hand and wrist as of late, tendonitis or maybe what happens to pro athletes when they overuse their wrist and elbow...
I'm so glad to hear you are doing great things with your music and life. Hope all is well with you and yours... Love, Albert

Hey Sunny, Sorry for the long time in writing back. We just got back from a wonderful Thanksgiving with my sister and family in Northwest Arkansas. Brrrrrr. From there we spent some time in New Orleans and were blown away by the history and loveliness of the folks there. Have a happy and healthy Holdiday season.
Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.
I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.
My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."
