Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.

I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.

My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."

Let's be audacious, my friends!

Your Dad was a wonderful man and musician. We performed together and competed for job's in Vegas always in a friendly atmosphere of respect for each others musicianship. When we worked at the San Remo Hotel he introduced me to recording my backing tracks to two track MD Discs.
This enhanced my performance tremendously which opened me up to orchestrating more music in my show. After he became Entertainment Director at the San Remo I was always worked for him. He'll truly be missed and I thank him for the special relationship that we had.

G-d Bless You Tim and your Family, if it be G-ds Will I'll see you in the hereafter.

Peace and Love,

Timkat, Tim and I are very close friends we shared a lot of musical ideas and were stable mates for many years. I know he had some health issues and he left the city, if you could tell him I wish him well.

Hey Kat, That little squirrel came up to Eva on day when she was getting the mail. He just ran right up to her and claimed her as his Mom. We took care of him till he was old enough to be on his own. What a pissa he was. He would take a few licks of my ice cream and then run up my arm to wipe his mouth on my shirt sleeve. We named him Paulie and we all grow to be very attached to one another, as you can see in that picture. Releasing him back to the wild was one of the hardest things we ever had to do in our lifes.
Don't see us visiting Denver in the near future, but if you're in NY and close to Long Island we would love to finally meet you. If you ever just want to talk email us your phone for a chat. Have a great Holiday Season and keep the music alive our 'Cool friend'. ((o: Lou and Eva

Hi Kathryn, You and Dad have been on our minds and in our prayers since we first heard of his battle with cancer in late 2008. We offer our deepest sympathies to you and your family. Although we have never met you or Dad his music has touched our hearts and will always live on forever. You always have friends here if you ever need to talk. Stay Blessed and keep the music alive. - Lou and Eva

The TIMKAT Jazz Cafe - Always fresh, never frozen . . . Download and support indie jazz!

Dear TJN Family:

Thanks so much for this forum as a way to support members on the site who have gone through some tough times in recent years. I thought I would post our struggle here with which we would so much appreciate your prayers and thoughts.

My father and business partner, Tim Ballard, courageously battled lung cancer and lymphoma for several years; sadly, he lost that battle on June 8, 2009 (but gained peace in the process). As a result, TIMKAT lay dormant, while I coped with first that loss, and then with several other family issues afterwards. The outpouring of love and support in the interim was wonderful, and I thank you again for that.  TIMKAT is still here, with God's blessing, stronger than ever, and riding on a second wind, ready to network, collaborate, and create once again.

Thiis year, we have been active on JazzTimes Magazine (or see JT Feed at left), networking with Colorado-based jazz powerhouse Capri Records, expanding our own blog, keeping our long-standing relationship with, and exploring our membership with the North American Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS), otherwise known as the "Grammies", so if you have an excellent recording, please let us know and we may submit it.  Our Facebook Tribute page is also growing with a global following every week.

Please enjoy some of Tim's tracks on our playlist, as well as those of some our closest friends in music, and thank you again for stopping by.

Best always,
Kathryn Shut /shoot/
