Born NY Nov 1953. Grew up Harlem, Sugar Hill, The Heights, Manhattan Valley...uptown.
Lifelong music fan. Listened to everything. Still do. Started venturing out to concerts
and clubs on my own at 14 (it was like that then) Apollo, Fillmore, MSG, Gate, Vanguard, Slugs, wherever. Elvin, Cream, Hubbard,Hendrix,Coryell, Delfonics,Mountain, Miles,Rahsaan,Bartz,Stevie,Santana,Sly,Kool&theGang,The Band,whoever. What a time!
Still wasn't playing. Decided to get a horn from the pawn shop 70's,local bands, clubs day job, community work, apts all over bx.
Mid 20's started touring Stacy lattisaw w/tm stevens,Change 80's, Vinnette Caroll Musicals, Mtume ,Freddie Jackson, by day. Olu dara, Arthur Blythe, Lester bowie, Kelvin bell, After hours.
90's, Jonathan Butler, Will Downing, Alex Bugnon, Patti Austin
'95 Family tragedy, stopped touring. Godsend- '95-'99 Bring in the Noise/Funk B'way

The Jazz Network is exactly what the title suggests, a place where you get to mix and mingle with those who have not only an appreciation for Jazz but a forum to hear new up and coming artists as well. I've hooked up with so many of my old friends that I've lost contact with over the years here and it's been a great place to meet folk, appreciate good music and Musicianship.
