Tell us a little about your background...
The new CD "A Flower Truly Blue" (2008) !!!!!!! NOW AVAILABLE AT www.cdbaby.com/cd/christinawatson2 !!!!!!! features Pat Coil on piano/B3/Arrangements, Jeff Coffin on sax, and fellow Berklee alum and husband Oscar Utterstrom on trombone and horn arrangements. 5 of the tracks are originals (4 of those are co-writes with producer Green Daniel), and the rest are standards or jazzed-up pop/folk covers.

Originally from Middlesboro, Kentucky and Knoxville, Tennessee, Christina moved to Nashville in 2001 after graduating Magna C** Laude from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Since her arrival in Music City, her versatile voice of 3 ½ octaves and love of all cultures have gained her entry into a wide array of musical situations, including appearances at various jazz festivals and venues in the US, France, Belgium, Sweden and China. Her Watson Utterstrom Nordic Quintet toured Sweden in the summer of 2007. She's currently recording her second album, this time featuring pianist / arranger Pat Coil on keys and B3. In 2004 she released her debut album “All About Love.” Christina also sings soprano in the Nashville based vocal jazz quartet 3rd Coast Vocals. She teaches private voice lessons from her home studio and is an instructor of vocal literature, chart writing for vocalists and theory at the Nashville Jazz Workshop. Christina also holds a BA in French from Centre College and an MA in French Literature from UT Knoxville. Her husband is fellow Berklee grad and Swedish trombonist Oscar Utterstrom (www.myspace.com/oscarutterstrom).
