New CD and other stuff

Well, I FINALLY managed to get my new CD tracked three weeks ago @ Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville WA. The sessions went quite well, the band really smoked but the entire 4 day process of rehearsing and 3 days of sessions was physically and mentally draining -its taken me until now to really recover from it all! ( but I'm a happy camper -I've got great tracks to work with!)I'll be editing and mixing the project the end of July for late fall release on Origin records. At the same time ( it…See More

Hi Phil,
Great to hear from you! Sorry you have been snowed in. I was happy to have missed it as my Seattle dates were the last weekend of October. :-) I will be back in the spring again at Bake's April 24 & 25 and maybe you will be able to come out one of the nights. I know it's such a long drive.
Stay well and hope 2009 brings you all good things, like lots of arrangements & gigs!!!
Hugs, Patti

Hi Phil,
Thank you for your message and your help. I hope that my music pleased you. In fact, I have finally met an arranger in september and now we work on my first album. Saved !! For me, it is marvellous to work and share ideas with someone who understands perfectly what I look for. He can transcend my music. My project begins to take shape... And I hope that it is only the beginning !

Nevertheless, I keep your offer in my mind. I want to move and meet other people. It would be a pleasure to collaborate with you in the future...

Best regards
Erin

Hey PK, just stopping by to see if you were around, I missed you, and here I brought you a bottle of scotch :o) Well, I'll save it for ya'. I see you've met Lisa Markley, she's great. I was laughing at your "a bunch of Italian singers" line, you never toured with me! I hope the weather, Beagles, and notes are all good. Enjoy. I'll email you soon.

Your overheated TX pal.

My touring days were in the late 50s -mid 60s with the end of the road big bands and as a drummer /arranger with a bunch of italian singers .At that point, I decided there had to be a better way to make a living, so I went into the studios ..and didn't come out for 40 years!

BTW: Some of the samples on your page sound quite good. Lotsa variety!

try touring as a singer/songwriter :)
tens of dollars to be made...

the face of touring is definitely changing.
I've got a friend making $400 a month performing on "second-life" with his avatar, no joke!
He sits at his computer singing into the mic Mon-Wed., (he figures those are off nights for him anyway), other second-lifers come to hear him from all over the world. He gets paid, and gets tips with virtual money, that converts to real-life cash. not much, but pays for gas for the rest of those gigs I guess.

unbelievable!

Marissa Dodge came out to our show the other night. Finally got to meet her in person. She even brought cookies :)
This network is a very special thing.

I may be getting home to the nw this fall. May even seek out a gig at the (?barking?--can't remember) frog tavern in Bellingham. I hear it's a smoke-free blues club? Now I'll have to go look it up again. Anyway, I'm amazed at how small this great big world is. Glad to meet you. Now I'm going to look up you sound clips.

take care

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN...

Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.

I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.

My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."

Let's be audacious, my friends!

Buster Williams
