Alive and Well in 2011

Hello to all my friends-

I am still alive and well here in 2011.  It's been a long time since I posted a blog.  When I first made the decision to promote my music on a social network, Myspace was the "big" destination.  Although I was not one of the first to get on Myspace, I did get here early.  As a result, I have enjoyed a fair degree of success with my site in terms of exposure for my music.  A big thanks to the more than 63,000 fans!  Who would've thought that an Indie jazz…

George Coleman Transcription

I added a new transcription of George Coleman's solo on "Billie's Bounce" to my website:

http://scooby-sax.com/transcriptions.aspx

Notice how clearly George is outlining the changes while playing with just bass and drums. 5 great blues choruses!

Enjoy!

A blessing bestowed..Jason Yarde & Andrew McCormack at the Front Room, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank London January 28th 2011

Enjoyed a perfect evening of music courtesy of Jason Yarde & McCormack. Two young masters at work engaging in intimate instrumental conversation with an uncanny understanding between them not often seen in performance. A set delivered with assured aplomb that left me totally satisfied and in a serene state of mind. As I sit here listening to their cd, my two year old grand children join me and are actually dancing and singing to what they hear. In so doing they have selected the… Continue

for MyMusicSuccess

02/10/2010

Dena Taylor’s Certitude is 11 tracks of unpretentious, well-performed country inspired jazz. The songs are considered standards, but they emanate a rich southern flavor that isn’t often associated with a standard jazz tune. …

Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.

I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.

My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."

Let's be audacious, my friends!
