PIANO PRAY

Let me lay on your piano

Let me lay there and dream

Let me listen to your solo

Without you my life is hollow

My desire makes me scream

Let me listen to melodies

Sweet melodies of your voice

Fresh tunes like summer breeze

I’ll listen, darling, it's my choice

Improvize as you please

The more unreal your tunes sound

The more of them I wanna hear

Compose a symphony about

Love’s different faces,… Continue

Bill Mays - The Inventions Trio

Finally, a chamber group that swings! With this unconventional instrumentation of Piano, trumpet and cello, Bill Mays has opened a new page in jazz. With his long time friend and associate, Marvin Stamm and the introduction of classically trained cellist, Alisa Horn, they've produced an inspiring and spirited, both classical and jazz, set of music that is refreshing, thoughtful and original. Marvin’s approach to this music is soft and trained in the classical nuances to give the music its new… Continue

Romanian JAZZ FESTIVAL

The Gărâna Jazz Festival is one of the most important events of this kind in Romania, bringing every year great names from the international and national scene (e.g: Jean-Luc Ponty, Jan Garbarek Group, Dixi Krauser, Johnny Răducanu, Aura Urziceanu, Teodora Enache, Alexandrina and many others)

1997 was the first year of the festival—in the beginning the idea seemed to be a local hobby for the founders. 2001 was a turning point for the… Continue

"HAPPY TO BE"

Hello everyone,

I am overjoyed to find this very special place for Jazz. And I am happy to be here now. Everyday I am learning the endless possibilities of technology, particularly the internet. Now we can share music, news, thoughts, etc. instantly and globally. As creators of this music called Jazz, the internet has brought about a new creative and commercial freedom never shared, or even imagined by our early Jazz family. Who knew that technology would be the bridge, the path to… Continue

Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.

I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.

My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."

Let's be audacious, my friends!
