KRONSTADT JAZZ FESTIVAL IS GOING ON! What we started, last year, would continue with a new edition, at least as attractive as the previous one and definitely, a bigger one!
I have to admit that when I preview new music from a group anchored by the jazz organ, I do so with great hope.. A hope that there will be fresh creativity and diversity within the selections. So many times I receive new ‘burner’ albums where each song, one after the other, sounds like the same session.. then repeated in reverse. I am happy this week. A new CD came into the radioIO studios from the organ based trio ‘Organissimo’. The album is called ‘Groovadelphia’… and it destroys all of the… Continue

Saxophonist Branford Marsalis recently performed back-to-back performances in Lebanon and Israel. Journalist Joshua Mitnick reports on these performances for New York’s The Jewish Week in the following article, titled Have Horn, Will Dialogue.
After an eight-city European tour crammed into 11 days, it might have been simpler to call it quits at the North Sea Jazz Festival and head home. Instead, with his tenor saxophone doubling as an… Continue

The Jazz Network is exactly what the title suggests, a place where you get to mix and mingle with those who have not only an appreciation for Jazz but a forum to hear new up and coming artists as well. I've hooked up with so many of my old friends that I've lost contact with over the years here and it's been a great place to meet folk, appreciate good music and Musicianship. What an incredible idea!!
Click the image to give us your ideas for great festivals, events, fundraisers, sponsors, investors, etc. Let's combine our databases to bring us all to the next level of networking!

Divine: The Jazz Albums, 1954-1958 packs four CDs with Vaughan's music, recorded live or in the studio with bands big and small. Two live albums from Chicago nightclubs are standouts, partly when a performance threatens to slide off the rails.
