Three Jazz Pianists, A Generation After Apartheid

Millennial musicians are reshaping the South African jazz scene in a culture of open exchange. Hear from pianists Nduduzo Makhathini, Kyle Shepherd and Bokani Dyer.

Dardanelle Hadley On Piano Jazz

In this Piano Jazz session from 1984, Hadley shows off her chops in "All The Things You Are" and duets with host Marian McPartland in "It's Delovely."

Anat Cohen's Roots Of Rio

The genre choro — the New Orleans jazz of Brazil — has long fascinated Cohen, a jazz-trained clarinet and saxophone player. Her new quartet Choro Aventuroso modernizes the music's rhythms and forms.

Ingrid Jensen And Steve Treseler Play Kenny Wheeler

The late, distinctively melodic jazz trumpeter and composer Kenny Wheeler was quietly influential to generations of musicians. From the Pacific Northwest, two acolytes reimagine his catalog.

'Remembering Marian McPartland: A Celebration' On Piano Jazz

Tony Bennett, Barbara Carroll, Bill Charlap, Chris Brubeck and more pay tribute to the grande dame of Piano Jazz.
