Soul Jazz Flutist Althea Rene is one the world’s most exciting solo improvisational flutists and regarded by some as a “master of her craft.” Her hit song “In the Flow” allowed her to become the first flute player in the history of the Billboard Chart to reach the #1 spot. She was born December 25th in Detroit, Michigan and began her musical journey at age four as a classical flutist. She studied classical music while attending Howard University in Washington D.C. and later gained further musical inspiration from the accomplishments of Yusef Lateef, Ian Anderson, and her father, one of Motown's original Funk Brothers, Dezie McCullers.

Recording Artist Barbara Fowler will be debuting her new music which includes a hot single titled "I'm Just Saying" or "IJS" as well as some very tasteful selections for this Up Close and Personal evening of muisc. Trust and believe, you do not want to miss the energy and vibe of her new project.

Christi Jones is an electifying vocalist that will captivate a crowd and leave you wanting more. She's a bonafide recording artist that can be heard on the single "No Sleep" from saxophonist Kim Waters new album titled Rhythm and Romance.

Following the concert, guests will be invited to take to the dance floor for an Old School Dance Party featuring everyone's favorite R&B, funk and club classics spun by the evening's host, Al "DJ ACT" Taylor from 94.3 WYBC-FM. Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.

I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.

My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."

Let's be audacious, my friends!
