“Then who can be saved?” was the priceless reaction of the
disciples of Jesus.
Well... just when I first thought, then you, that we were safe from the things in my head... the earth shakes. (Truth be told, I had the intention of enjoying the "day off" and not posting.)
Nevertheless... barely off my heels and; there is a need for so much healing. I'm grateful to say: I healed myself. What's next? More knowledge... desire... and quiet. Intention. Attention! There seems to be a need always for stillness.
More healing... In quietness, maybe. Here's some of what I got, so far...
From Father Jerome Ledoux SVD:
Their reaction was spontaneous and very revealing,
indicating that they thought there are only two groups of people: the
rich and the wannabes, which includes everybody. Jesus warns: “Where
your treasure is, that is where your heart is!” (Matthew 6:21)
Of course there is loss and gain. My gain will be to bring whatever I can to the doorstep of Haiti. Seems simple.
For those in New Orleans, I suggest going to 2411 Treasure Street. (7th Ward) The Imani Temple... runs parallel (almost) to Benefit; just around the corner from Abundance. I am eager to knock on the door. There, will be accepted donations of: medical supplies, of course including baby formula. Toiletries etc. - basic clothing items, you know. This will be carried on a plane that will be leaving from Louis Armstrong International Airport sometime mid-week. Stay tuned to those
WWOZ Magic Moments!
I gave dollars yesterday at Historic St. Augustine Church. The night before that, I gave at Le Ancienne Oufo Vodou Temple – in Rosalie Alley, between Piety & Desire. Today I hope to make it to Treasure Street (not to be confused with Pleasure Street which... crosses Desire.)
It's a crazy ride. I'm praisin' all the way. There's another organization which I came across via the net.
Vodou Aid was set up prior to this quake. The group states that Catholic relief efforts are denied to people who practice traditional African-rooted spiritual practices. I hope that this would now cease.
One thing I can say about this quake: The Palace... is
gone!
Destiny.
