Hi All,

Please do not think by anyone’s acumen that (anyone is) is better than anyone else. I do not think myself more highly than I ought. It’s just that when so many contribute into my life, I MUST reciprocate with Fruit, rather than futility. I desire so many more to reflect, when in your sphere, so many more have taken so much away.

Hence, I wax gross and large!

When Suss is totally immersed, he’s in a zone.
When I’m out of the zone, I’m gregarious.

When I’m engrossed, then I’m focused
When finding a solution, I’m again focused.
I’m the person, not merely a 2nd or 3rd person.

Not for accolades, but toward appreciating each and everyone,
Toward a view among diverse cultures when there are still deaf ears;
… and many empty hearts without Hope.

For the gifts into my life that I will pay forward,
(With joy and not sorrow),
I am guarding my heart.
My heart, as quickened, determines the issues of my life.
Along with those close in relationship and encouragement.

As for the gifts others have yet to discover,
I pray your discovery of self first…Then to another bestow them.
Remember what this year’s SAGE Conference imparted to you and me.

[Support Advisory Group for Empowerment: viz – “SAGE”]

Stay Focused, firm and with conviction upon proven principles that we cannot even imagine. None of us can ever imagine how the “little” things we contribute to another will result in a harvest for so many others down the road. Take heed, please: continue sowing.

I personally thank each, and everyone, of you for your openness (or silence) during our session; now two weeks ago.

We ARE The SAGE within FEMA! Our corporate personalities are what will be the “sage” and “wisdom” to usher in a new generation without “surprise” or “chagrin” of anyone. The Writing is on the Wall.

Please keep your Hope alive (and listen before you speak); with an Excellence toward your Success - as is the Desire of your heart.

Please break out of anyone’s circles – most certainly our own. Don’t you see what’s happening? Time is winding up and drawing toward Eternity. Please do not leave anyone behind in these troublesome times. Reach out to family, broken relationships among the living – and make new friends when discernment brings about courage to do so.

Do so with kindness. I trust to see you next year – and I’m no novice in this dynamic, nor am I an amateur musician or an agent of enforcement. I believe in the mantra of choice for anyone’s benefit to discover this treasure. From my coffers (not coffin), I choose to share it openly and honestly. Yet…

My challenge is translating what I can perform with who I know personally. I’m ever a student when this wisdom is portrayed, while a teacher when others seek the same understanding. This is what SAGE ’09 meant to me.

Go figure; however much we prefer not to repeat ourselves among commodities on a grocery shelf, we remain disposable. Yes, go figure: it’s a paradigm shift in anyone’s quantum Growth. It ought not be this way, and was not Originally Intended – to the embarrassment of us ALL.

By my own hands (and only a sample) on the drums/percussion/or producing, please muse and reflect for yourself. Download with security measures in force with pure motives.

In the meantime, I’m keeping Time along with so many outside of my “so-called” circle. Whatever floats your boar is what I’m in support of without anyone drowning. Go figure with yourself in the MIX (now that’s the riddle!): Listen and apply the syncopations to your own life in rhythm, while denying no one who God created by His Son.

Conundrum: Written by my percussive mentor & friend, Billy Cobham. This is the riddle: to discern between meter/metrics and ourselves in Time. By my own hands to Billy’s tune:

Be well everyone; and be ever vigilant! My desire toward excellence is to show by example how to achieve success; such by doing what is within our hands, as well as encouraging each other. Though music remains my passion, it somehow cannot capture my purpose among those among us. There is a message in this mess-age; so make music out of the mess. As we were reminded: Make Fertilizer. I say, sow it on fallow ground.

Wherever, and however, the solution is to send love to each other by any means necessary: hence what was to become Nick & Val’s first Gold award with myself behind the kit back in the Day. Just send out the love to each and everyone (whether they listen OR NOT!).

By the grace of my Father, in Jesus name, I will see anyone next year in 2010. Timidity will cripple your attitude, let alone your dreams with whatever you seek to do. So be sensitive (and responsive) to anyone around you. That is my Blessing without curse to anyone.

With All Respect & Dignity,

P.S. There’s a different way with those having ears, hearts, and willingness to cooperate.

P.P.S. So go for the targeted and “Torpedo Flow” with understanding first toward understanding others, and the corpus/nexus of our intersections.

P.P.P.S. Only space and time separates us. Here’s another idiom within genres; not mine: http://www.johnsussewell.com/Spin'sSpace-NeilLoughran(UK)wSuss(USA)-2003.mp3 Take your breath as I have so many times. We’re not over yet – keep your hope Alive!

The Jazz Network is exactly what the title suggests, a place where you get to mix and mingle with those who have not only an appreciation for Jazz but a forum to hear new up and coming artists as well. I've hooked up with so many of my old friends that I've lost contact with over the years here and it's been a great place to meet folk, appreciate good music and Musicianship. What an incredible idea!!

Rudresh Mahanthappa On Piano Jazz

Mahanthappa brings an explosive blend of jazz and South Indian classical music to the studio.

Grady Tate On Piano Jazz

Grady Tate began his jazz career as a much-celebrated drummer, backing such icons as Wes Montgomery, Ella Fitzgerald, and Quincy Jones. Tate has since traded in his skins for a microphone at center stage, where he delivers smooth and soulful baritone vocals. With pianist John di Martino, Tate sings "Everybody Loves My Baby" and "Where Do You Start."

Woody Herman At 100: 'A Blues Player From His Heart'

He was a soulful reedman, an amazing talent scout for decades and a bandleader of one of the country's most popular acts. Born in 1913, Herman led "Thundering Herds" that were both big draws and well-respected by the likes of Igor Stravinsky. Here are five recordings which still sound fresh today.

Edmar Castañeda And Friends On JazzSet

Hear passionate improvisation across borders on Colombian harp, Argentinian bandoneón, Venezuelan cuatro and vibes from the U.S. In a set with Castañeda, his trio and special guests perform at the Americas Society in New York.

Miguel Zenón Quartet: Live At The Village Vanguard

Ever since he started becoming one of the best alto saxophone players in the world, Zenón has drawn from his upbringing in Puerto Rico. But, like many Puerto Ricans, Zenón lives in New York — where his quartet of 10 years has finally been invited to play the Vanguard. It presents new music in concert.
