My father was a hardworking Blue Collar worker that taught me honesty is always the best choice. He worked most his life as a welder using his skills to make others wealthy, but his profession was not the sum of his life. His beautiful works of art and amazing photography taught me that you are not defined by your 9 to 5 job, and so much more.

The sad truth is I did not get to spend much time with him in my younger years. My mother and father divorced when I was but 11 months old. The visits were few and far between and a small child does not always know what or who to believe. My father was more like a photograph than a real person to me then.

My father was honest, hard working and compassionate and I feel blessed to have had him in my life. It is unfortunate that so much time was wasted over the "HURT" I held onto for so many years. Later in life he taught me that Men do not have a choice in choosing a stepfather to step in when he is unable to be there.

In his last years he taught me that people with cancer have choices about how they deal with this terrible disease. My father fought back with grace and the belief that he would conquer the scourge of the cells that sought to devour his once healthy body. He lived two years after they told him he only had 6 months to live.

Now if your DAD or MOM is still around then hug them and say I LOVE YOU. You see mine are both gone as well as all of my grandparents. Love and cherish all of your loved ones while they are still here to enjoy your loving hugs.

Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.

I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.

My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."

Let's be audacious, my friends!
