BJ Lookin' forward to your new music!...Finally started recording last month...it's sooo slow with everyone doing different jobs...but it's going well...and we're really fussy...lol....All my best for you and all those lucky enough to be in your life....love and jazz from Maine...always b
BJ...you sing your buns off! Love what you do to a song. Call me when you get to Hawaii...808- 265- 6929...by the way, I sang with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra doing a concert that featured Frank Sinatra's original arrangements back in 1999. Love your country and musicians...aloha, Jimmy
The piano player on "Trolly" is killin'. Who is he?...Would like to play with him when we get to New Zealand. (Notice how positive I am.) Anyway, I'm planning on working on that today. Great seeing you here.
Really love your Tracks! nice sultry voice and great piano tracks.
Been working on tracks so not much time for anything.
Also working with David Priest for the past several weeks and managed to get some tracks down for him. Hope to have them up and running soon. David is a great player. love the old school that he know's so well and also the fact that he's eclectic with his choice of styles that he's willing to play.
Hope to hear some more tracks from you Barb and great to see that your back after a 10 year absence. I'll bet you didn't know much you missed singing and workin on your music.
There is so much music out there that so much slips thru the cracks. I used to tell my radio audience that all the time. Fragile is one of Stings masterpieces, and has been recorded by several people, including Andy Bey. My arrangement is an idea I had for a long time and is part of a recording session that has yet to be released. Glad you like it.
My band on that recording has a longstanding involvement with me, pianist and drummer 40 years. So, yeah, we breathe together.
Brabara Jean, how nice of you to comment on my page. Hey, you sound great too. Black Coffee is a wonderful standard that requires some understanding and you manage to set your own tone with it. Good luck.
Thanks for you kind words Barbara! This is a great place to put your stuff on. I recommend doing the feature package and getting the review from Steve Getz, those things are very helpful for promo/resume.
Sweet BJ...you're really gainin' on the vocalese....well done m'lady...travel being what it is, may i send you a mp3 file for an example of "sweet old" cornet fill on Black Coffee...your works are splendid!...my very best to you always...but you already know that...keep up the great work....stunning! My best to you all...always b
Thanks for the listen sis', appreciate it....I seen David a few moons ago, he was doing a Shearing tribute. The man diffinetly has skills!...Join me at FaceBook if you like :-)....http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=510096461&ref=profile
Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.
I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.
My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."
