All the best with your fusion outfit Ted. The whole concept is enjoying a revival (not that it ever went away for me!) and will I think continue to do so. Fusion's a limiting term really, it's a broader musical concept really. Must say can't get enough of Tony Williams (such a huge influence on me both as a drummer and composer) especially Lifetime's'Turn It Over' and 'Snake Oil & 'Frank' sublime playing with so much guts, fire, passion and finesse, Williams' hallmark. Terrible loss to music but a magnificent legacy. And it's still as fresh today as the day it was recorded. Alas when we're now inundated with 'smooth jazz' (which I feel has emasculated an entire jazz audience) guts and passion's in short supply. There's also the Emperor's New Clothes outifts who fall well short of the mark. But there's still much to be achieved and a band at that level, on song, is a real treat to be part of.
