I also spent some time with Marcus, Stanley & Victor this summer.
I have been working hard on lots of nice new original compositions... Please have a listen to some demos of them on my epk : sallynight.com/epk ...I would love to hear your comments!
Take care and hope to hear from you soon.
Terence, love your new page, with the updated commentaries and photos...well done....
Anytime I can add to your efforts to help rebuild the Crescent City let me know. I will gladly donate my imaging talents...and any new or stock photo's that will help New Orleans to rebuild, I've applied to NOLA's teacher recruiting efforts too....
Thank you too, for all that you do with your artistry in JAZZ...you are an inspiration indeed to many and to myself in particular, and I am grateful for it...
This picture is from a series I took in '74 while on a teaching workshop trip....I can still hear "Sweet Emma" every time I see these images...
Oh my gosh?! Is this THE Terrance Blanchard?! I have been a fan of yours since Mo Betta Blues, in fact I have the Mo Betta Makes It Mo Betta button over my bed;-). Of course back then I hadn't discovered how deep was my love for jazz and that it was my destiny fulfilled. Please check out my music. I'd welcome any chance to work with you as a vocalist or songwriter.
Jaijai, what a wonderful mission you've undertaken to create such a place for artistic minds to meet and share their hearts. A place to renew faded determinations, and revive lessened momentums. A place to display our wares and reconfirm to one another that we actually are on the right track.
I commend you, Jaijai, for caring so much that you created this castle of the heart for all of us. I want to share my praise for all of the new friends as well as old friends that I've met and will meet here in our castle. Here we can garnish the where-with-all, the strength, the conviction, and the selflessness through our symbiosis, to share our gift to the world with an unbiased agenda.
My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda says of art: "A beautiful flower delights and refreshes the hearts of all people equally, no matter what soil it grows in. That is the power of beauty. The same is true of great art. It is this spirit that the German poet Heinrich Heine sang of when he wrote that once the peapod bursts open, the sugar peas inside are for everyone to enjoy."
