Hey Pat, The 31st August was a wee while ago when you kindly left a message for a fellow Scot - so all I can do is apologise for being better late than never!! As I say, I've been rather absent for TJN for a few months all around, just work and family stuff. Amazing to see what a big and small world TJN is and bringing many amazing folks together via Jajai's inception. Hope things are good in Glasgow! :O) Alan

Hi Pat, nice to hear from you. As you say I am well chuffed with the fundraising result and already planning a few events for next year. I am hoping that one of the events will be a big outdoor jazz concert in a local Fife park next June or July and I will be asking all of my jazz buddies if they might like to take part. Since it is a charity event I will be looking for folks to give their time and talents for free so I would be grateful if you and the band might consider coming along and I will get back to you once I have more details.
Still hoping to catch some of your gig at Callander but I also need to check in on another act who's show is on at the same time on Saturday because we are looking to book them for our new jazz club and my colleague in the venture insists that we see acts perform before booking them !!!

Yay!!! thanks for my favorite tune, I just want to make sure that its an mp3 that you loaded instead of an mp4 because the volume is low on it. Check it and if its an mp4, try to convert in itunes to mp3, the site will only allow mp3's :-( I can still hear it its just faint.....

Let me know if you need my help...I'm so glad you are networking with us!

All da love,

Hi Pat, what I wanted to tell you was that I wanted to feature you at some point. Could you put up "Day by day" I love the way you do that song, plus in your music player hit EDIT, then AUTOPLAY then save. This way your music will start immediately upon your page opening.

Kamasi Washington's 'The Epic' In Concert

The music of the saxophonist's three-CD, nearly three-hour work comes to life in its full glory, assisted by his long-time working band, a choir, strings and plenty of special guests.

The Bad Plus Joshua Redman At Detroit Jazz Festival

Both the saxophonist and the collaborative trio are among the most celebrated and thoughtful jazz acts of the last couple decades. Their new quartet together remakes each others' tunes.

Celebrating Joe Temperley In Concert

The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra salutes its Scottish baritone saxophonist and elder statesman with a program of his favorite Ellingtonia and a new concerto by Wynton Marsalis.

Vijay Iyer Trio At Metropolitan Museum Of Art

A piano trio that's made an art of collective rhythmic risk-taking plays Iyer's distinctive compositions and those of his disruptive heroes, with the backdrop of an Egyptian temple.

Akua Dixon At Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival

The multi-talented cellist leads her string ensemble in concert from the African-American neighborhood of Bedford-Stuyvesant, featuring her two children on voice and drums.
