"Golden Earrings" is one of the most requested songs for Jody to sing in her shows. Recorded while performing at the Hollywood Studio Bar & Grill, in
California, Sept. 2011, show produced by Dolores Petersen. The amazing Karen Hernandez on keys, Tony Dumas on bass, and Ralph Penland on drums.... look them up... they are major players!
Jody fell in love with this song as a child, when she saw the movie "Golden Earrings" starring Ray Milland and Marlena Dietrich and it's story has haunted her ever since.
In this video of photos, Jody shared a couple of family pictures in the midst
of her performing stills.
Some photos by JC Jaress (Jody's son), Yolanda Poe, and Dani Brubacker. The Vintage photos unknown photographer.
Music by Victor Young, Lyrics by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans.

"Golden Earrings" lyrics as sung by Jody Jaress
There's a story
The gypsys know is true
That when your love wears golden earrings
They belongs to you
An old love story
That's known to very few
That if you wear... golden earrings
Love will come to you
By the golden fire
They will glow
With every coal
You will hear desire
Whisper low
Inside your soul
So be my gypsy
Make love your guiding light
And let this pair
Of golden earrings
Cast their spell tonight

The Jazz Network is exactly what the title suggests, a place where you get to mix and mingle with those who have not only an appreciation for Jazz but a forum to hear new up and coming artists as well. I've hooked up with so many of my old friends that I've lost contact with over the years here and it's been a great place to meet folk, appreciate good music and Musicianship. What an incredible idea!!
